Lagos de Moreno is a Colonial city in "Los Altos de Jalisco" (The Highlands of Jalisco).   We are 2.5 hours east-north-east of Guadalajara.  30 minutes South is Leon, Guanajuato.  One hour to the North is Aguascalientes.  We have grown from 63,600 in 1990 to about 125,000 in 2008.   Why??  People are moving to Lagos from the larger cities, to the tranquility  and colonial beauty of our city.  On the left be SURE to check out the photos of our city!

The wonderful Springlike climate we enjoy almost year round is due to the 6,371 feet elevation.   The summer highs are around 86° and the winter lows of around 35°.  Lagos was established as a half-way point between Mexico City and the City of Zacatecas during the days of gold and silver transportation between these cities.

This is truly "Old Mexico" with its old style Colonial architecture, but just minutes away are stores such as Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Sears, Sams Club, and Office Depot.   We are conveniently nestled between two International Airports.

Lagos has three universities, a Technical School of Engineering,  an Art Center,  Arts Theater,  excellent hospitals,  medical doctors,  dentists, and optometrists.   Thirty minutes away is a golf course.
